Liverpool vs Tottenham or Ajax
Liverpool will be back in the Champions League final on June 1.
Twelve months after losing to Real Madrid, the Reds will be looking to win the Champions League against either Tottenham or Ajax.
Ajax go into Wednesday’s second Champions League semifinal with a 1-0 lead over Spurs.
Jurgen Klopp acknowledges his poor final record
Are Liverpool already favourites to win the competition regardless of who they face?
Perhaps, although Jurgen Klopp is yet to win his first trophy at Anfield.
Klopp has been in two European finals with Liverpool without winning either of them.
Looking at his wider CV, Klopp has lost two Champions League finals, one Europa League final, two German Cups and a Carabao Cup final.
So will it be third time lucky in the Champions League final at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium?
Addressing his win percentage in finals, Klopp said:
I know what people say about me and losing finals, that’s absolutely right.
But it’s the fourth final in that time as well we are in, that’s pretty special already.
Last year we really felt we have to go back – we cannot let it stand like this, that’s not possible. Now we get another chance and we will go for that, of course.
